What is a Chaplain?

The ministry of the chaplaincy is an ancient and noble call within the church. The chaplain’s ministry is to share and offer the love of God to all those who are in need.

Resources Area!

We strongly believe that helping others is important and we want you to be part of it.
The resource area is designed to inform all of our participants. We train from certificate to Masters Degree. We also have short courses varies from 1 to 6 months with four weeks field training.

Master’s Degree

How to get this master’s degree

  • To obtain this master’s degree, the student must have a minimum of 72 semester hours, 72 semester credits or 108 credits.

Semiannual Credits

Twenty-four semester graduate credits in theological, religious or spiritual studies and at least one in each of the following categories:

  • History of the faith
  • Teaching and principles of faith
  • Sacred texts
  • Moral principles or ethics based on faith.

Postgraduate Credits

Twenty-four semester graduate credits in chaplaincy, religious or spiritual care, counseling and / or
practice with one (1) course from at least six (6) of the following areas:

  • Religions of the world.
  • Ethnic and cultural diversity
  • Chaplaincy, religious or spiritual care of people.
  • Practice of religious or spiritual counseling.
  • Practice of communication.
  • Religious or spiritual education.
  • Ethics of professional practice.

Religious or spiritual leadership in organizations that include:

  • Leadership in a local community of faith (church, synagogue, temple, mosque, spiritual community life, etc.)
  • Spiritual care of institutions including education, consultation and development of employees in the areas of organizational mission, vision and values, spiritual dimension of the workplace, environments and spiritual dimensions of service.
  • Spiritual dimensions of secular or “secular” leadership.
    Faith-based internships supervised by teachers with faith-believing doctorates.

Additional Credits

The 24 additional semester graduate credits may be from any one area either 1. Or 2. Above or any graduate level study accredited or appropriate degree program for chaplaincy or clinical pastoral education supervision.

Master of Divinity

 

The Master of Divinities study plan is a program that combines French and English two-year classes that allow the student to receive biblical, theological and practical training that gives him the necessary bases to enter full-time pastoral ministry, missionary or Christian academic education.

Equivalences

Applicants who do not meet the above standards must request equivalence. The areas of study to meet the standards related to education must be qualified to appear before a certification committee.

  • Bachelor degrees in other fields depending on their effectiveness related to the work of professional chaplaincy or supervision of clinical pastoral education must meet the academic qualification standards in order to begin the process to give a degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or university. If the undergraduate degree is not accredited, an accredited school must attest to the acceptance of the degree as a prerequisite for postgraduate studies or its application may not be considered.
  • Professional certification by a Chaplain certified by the Board who has served on certification committees and has already known the applicant professionally for at least two years will be evaluated as an educational equivalency qualifier for up to 15 semester hours.
  • A second degree in theological, religious or spiritual studies evaluated for semester credits from pre-graduate to postgraduate can only be evaluated up to 15 credits.
  • Continuing professional education will be evaluated in a 100 contact hours ratio equivalent to one semester of credit which admits 15 semester credits.
  • Three credit units beyond the four required for certification will receive five semester credits each, up to 15 semester credits.
  • Professional publication and teaching of chaplaincy, religion and spiritual care and education equals 15 semester credits.
